The Dance
The Hollywood Contra Dance is one of the oldest in South Florida. With a tradition that goes back many years, it has a faithful following. It is suggested that dancers bring soft soled, non-marking shoes to protect the wood floor. The dance is on hiatus for a while - watch here for information on it’s new beginning.
The Hollywood Woman’s Club
The Hollywood Women’s Club is located at 501 North 14 th Avenue, at the corner of Fillmore Street in Hollywood’s North Lake neighborhood. The building overlooks the Hollywood Beach and Golf Country Club’s golf course. The building was constructed in 1927 in a Classic Revival Style and is surrounded by a large lawn and is registered as a National Historic Site as well as a Hollywood Historical Landmark. The building has a wonderful, original wood floor.
